Club Coordinator Program

What is the RFL Club Coordinator Program?

Strengthening Rugby Clubs. Empowering Communities.

At Rugby For Life, we believe rugby clubs are the backbone of strong, healthy communities. That’s why we created the Club Coordinator Program – placing a paid volunteer into local clubs for the equivalent of two full days each week, focused on supporting your people, strengthening connections, and delivering positive outcomes on and off the field.

These Coordinators aren’t employees. They’re community champions – embedded in your club, backed by RFL, and connected to a wider support network that includes iwi, schools, local businesses, and over 100 partner organisations.

Building Stronger Club Connections with Your Community

Your Club + Rugby For Life = Future Ready

Every club is unique – with its own needs, strengths, and challenges. An RFL Coordinator acts as a local leader, building stronger connections with schools, iwi, community groups, and businesses.

Working from within your club, RFL Coordinators focus on what matters most to you – from growing junior numbers to building partnerships, running events, and linking with local services. They’re your on-the-ground support to help grow and strengthen your club.

RFL Coordinators don’t replace anyone – they amplify the great work already happening. If you think your club and community could benefit from the RFL Club Coordinator program, get in touch.

Who's Your RFL Leader

They’re the ones who go the extra mile. The ones who are always connecting people, organising, helping out, and bringing others along with them — often without any official title. With the right support, training, and connection to the Rugby For Life network, these everyday heroes can become powerful change-makers for your club and your community.

Does your club have someone who:

  • Knows how to get things done and solve problems before they become issues?
  • Is always building relationships – with whānau, local schools, iwi, or businesses?
  • Brings energy and care to everything they do?
  • Lives and breathes the values of rugby – inclusion, teamwork, manaakitanga?

If you're nodding right now, you've already got your Coordinator.

RFL will simply provide the structure, funding, tools, and support to help them thrive in the role – and help your club thrive in the process.
