Our Journey

We have started an exciting partnership with Queenstown Resort College (QRC) Tai Tokerau to help highlight local education pathways to honour our cultural values of kaitiakitanga to all Northlanders and future visitors, from right here in Te Tai Tokerau.


The QRC Tai Tokerau campus offers a range of education programmes across Hospitality Management, Tourism Operations, Hospitality Service.


Knowing that fees should not be a barrier for any Northlander wanting to create a new future, our partnership also includes the QRC Leadership and Performance Programme with financial and learning manaaki for further career and personal development of Northlanders. It doesn’t matter where you come from or your background. You can achieve anything.

The Problem

Educational attainment levels are well below national levels in Northland, and youth

NEET (not in employment, education or training) is twice the national rate.  Other issues link Health & Wellbeing undoubtedly also have an impact on performance and achievement at school, and ultimately adult life, leading to Northland’s low educational attainment levels, high unemployment and increased crime rate.

What We Are Doing About It?

Through RFL partnership with QRC Tai Tokerau, we are excited to introduce you to a chance to experience a world-class education programme, right here in your beautiful home region of Paihia.


Opened in 2016, with the strong support of NZ Māori Tourism, local Iwi, and the Northland business community, The QRC Tai Tokerau’s aim is to equip Northlanders with the skills and experience to pursue their dream future, regardless of their background.
